“People on the death row awaiting their execution struggle with the same things than people walking free outside the prison,” he said. He’s a pastor who has been doing prison ministry for decades.
We chatted for a while about how each of us gets exposed to sometimes radically different kinds of experiences, people environments, lifestyles and challenges since our birth. And how, regardless of the circumstances later in life, the inner struggles are strikingly similar.
The pastor asked about my work as a Mentor and Coach to Business Leaders and a Rapid Transformational Therapy Practitioner.
We agreed with his observation about the inner struggle.
I have worked with people on various stages of their businesses and success levels.
While the strategies and systems to create the wanted outcomes on the business side vary depending on what the goals and starting point are, the inner transformation renewing the business owners’ identity comes down to only three things. When we discover which one is the limiting one, changing that can happen almost in an instant.
What came out as one of the strongest connectors of our work? The work that the pastor does in person in prison cells and the work that I do remotely via a Zoom connection with entrepreneurs around the world.
Instead of judging someone by their past, we stand by them as they repair their future. While we have different skillsets and use different methods, that is what we do.
Lonely is not being alone. It’s the feeling that no one cares.
That is true whether you sit in a prison cell or in an office at home or elsewhere.
What touched me the most from what the pastor shared with me was that he doesn’t only pray for the prisoners. He asks them to pray for him, too.
We are all flawed.
The beauty is that regardless of that, we were given the power to help others.
That power grows from accepting help.
Ownership of that power is claimed by asking for help.
