What if you were to write a book and you want it to have a shelf life of years after it got published?

What’s your focus of your book going be?

This weekend I read two new books fresh out of the digital print: Stories From The Heart: Tales of Courage by Lisa Evans and The way of the entrepreneur: A Journey Of Riches by John Spender

The co-authors of these books represent a variety of businesses in different industries. What all of their stories had in common was that they were about principles, values, mission. Not about tools and techniques, things that are quickly gone.

Wise, discerning business owners have learned what makes their business stable. They build their business focusing on things that are long-lasting.

They also gain the real benefit of being able to educate people about something that is evergreen and does not expire as fast as the book goes out of print.

If you are going to educate -or get educated – you might want to spend your precious time and resources on something that stays current and relevant.

If you wanted to stay distracted whole day long, you can easily do that.

Many choose this option. Regardless of recognizing that what they are doing is beneath them or who or what they really are.

And that’s how many Entrepreneurs drown… they get flushed away by the flood of whatever happens this week.

People like businesses that have bigger ideas than how much they sold this month. Something that is bigger than their product.

So, what is it that you and your business stand for?
